Our Kind of Town: Chicago Web Design and Chicago Web Development

Chicago is a great place to be involved in website development and web design, not least because of the abundance of graphic designers and interactive marketing activity in Chicago!

Arc Technology Group has been intimately involved in the greater Chicago technology community since it started out in the Evanston Tech Incubator eight years ago.

Today, we serve clients throughout the greater Chicago area, across Illinois, and in neighboring states like Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan, as well as across the country.

Chicago: A Diverse Economy, Rich in Web Services

Chicago is a hotbed of tech business, and that makes it a great place to do web development. Current and past Arc clients are leaders in the internet marketing, electronics, pharmaceutical, consulting, engineering, and many other industries. Chicago is also the home of highly specialized tech leaders such as digital mapping leader Navteq and others.

Web Development with City Government to Bridge the Digital Divide

Arc has led a pro-bono project by Joomla!Chicago to team with the Department of Technology and Innovation of the City of Chicago to provide a Internet mapping-based application as part of the community's ongoing efforts to help bridge the "digital divide.".

The Chicago Web Development and Technology Community

Arc actively supports the activities of the MIT Enterprise Forum and the Illinois Technology Association (ITA). In the Evanston tech community, we founded and host an informal get-together called "Carbon-based Contact"

Chicago's Newest Tech Citizen: the Joomla CMS and Joomla Development in Chicago

Arc is a founding member and heavy supporter of Joomla Chicago. The group meets monthly in the Loop, with an introduction to Joomla basics, followed by a feature presentation, and always including an opportunity for networking. Attendance averages between 50 and 60 people per meeting.

Chicago was also the site of Joomla!EXPO in May, 2008. Arc was a principal sponsor. Two hundred visitors came from all over the U.S. and about a dozen foreign countries! A follow-on event is expected to take place in Chicago again, in May, 2009.
